Bronica ETRS: A Modular Camera Solution for Medium-Format Photography

Medium-format photography, such as the Bronica ETRS, was the most common form of photography back in the 1940s and 1950s. • ETR: Produced in the 1970s, this is the original camera in the ETR medium-format SLR camera family that uses the 120mm and 220mm film roll. The mechanical shutter setting at 1/500 does not consume any battery, and flash sync is available at all speeds.
• ETRC: The ETRC comes with a nonremovable camera back. Instead, the ETRC uses film inserts.
• ETRS: As an improved version of the original ETR model, the Bronica ETRS has an interchangeable viewfinder system. Both the lens release and film release feature a redesign to make removing and changing lenses and films much easier. The nonremovable camera backs revert back to the original removable design.
• ETR-Si: Here, Bronica redesigned and improved upon the mirror lockup design. The same is also true for the camera grip areas and the film winder crank design, both of which improved.

Bronica has made a total of 17 lenses for the ETR medium-format SLR camera family. The selections range from fish-eye to zoom to telephoto to shift lenses. As part of the modular design, all ETR leaf shutter lenses, including the Bronica ETRS film cameras, can be used interchangeably.
