Heating the edges of the screen will release the adhesive and allow you to remove the screen using your tools. After the screen comes loose, you will have to disconnect a few small cords so that you can get the old parts out of the way. Put the display in place and heat the edges to melt the adhesive and seal the phone.

Replacing a cracked display takes concentration and patience. The LCD screen is protected by the digitizer. When you remove this, be sure not to touch or scratch your LCD. Using the proper equipment (such as a screen pry tool) may help.
