LG G6 purchase
I bought this November 2016 and here are the Pros:, (I've been an avid LG user since the 1st G Series (flagship) Optimus G and have been with Sprint over 13 years as a customer.), , #1 Removable battery, which I have 3 extra batteries with the charging craddle., , #2 Metal housing (much more durable then cheap plastic. DON'T EVER USE PLASTIC ON G series phones again! Stay with aluminium metal., , Cons:, #1 Battery life isn't the greatest. I don't use WI-FI, Bluetooth, GPS or have my brightness set up to blinding white light! (All things that kill your battery life)., , #2 Screen/display burn is showing on my G5 already., , 1. LG product has better build quailty then their competion (Brand S)., 2. The customer gets a low price on their flagship devices without "breaking the bank" with their other "greedy" brand S competitor., , Plus..With the 2 year promise on the G6., I will be getting the Black G6 with Sprint., , Suggestion: Instead of doing a promotion like the past G3, G4, and G5 phones. Free battery and craddle., , Make the Mophie battery case for the G6 and have that as a promotion. Now that the batteries are built in now on the G6 and (future) G7., Or..have a promotion for the portable 6000 mAh battery., , Thank you., Eric

Just right.
Pros:, - Fits better in my pocket than the iPhone "Plus" form factor, - Great screen, - Tough waterproof build, - Good fingerprint reader, - Good performance, - Good primary camera with face detection and manual control, - Insane wide angle secondary camera, - Micro SD card slot eliminates storage anxiety, - Headphone jack, - Always-on display has useful info and causes minimal battery drain, , Cons:, - No stereo speakers, - 32GB internal storage begs for a supplemental SD cart, - No LED notification light, - LG theming is just OK, , If you purchase this phone, I suggest you buy a Micro SD card from day 1 and tell your phone to save all your photos there. As long as you do that, 32GB is plenty of space for most app collections., , The always-on display is a good replacement for the notification light. I was wary at first, but in my testing it doesn't drain much battery life (maybe 2-3% extra over an 8-hour sleep cycle), and the ability to see the notification types right there on the display eliminates the need for mentally decoding various LED notification colors., , I came from a Nexus 6P. That form factor was known to have structural integrity issues. It was also big, so I found myself removing it from my pocket every time I sat down, to sidestep bending concerns. No more worries with the G6 though. It's tough and smaller while still having plenty of screen.

4.5 stars - very few drawbacks for the pricepoint
For the price point, this phone rivals anything out there. The camera quality is great, battery life is sufficient, processor speed is great, and general features supported by the phone are mostly useful. The sound has also seemed to improve on this model being that the speakers don't seem to be covered by your hand when holding the device as in the previous models., , If I were to point out one downfall, and it is a small one, is that LG for some reason decided to remove the infrared scanning technology on this phone as opposed to the previous LG models. Why this bothers me is a bit nit-picky, but one of the most useful features of the LG phones in the past was the "quick remote" app which allowed you to basically control any device, no matter the age, with your phone, if you had lost the remote to that device., , Overall, 4.5 stars.

Worthy Galaxy S8 alternative at half the preowned price
Between this phone and the Galaxy S8, the difference comes down to the design and software experience. The LG G6 is one of my favorite designs for a phone, for one being symmetrical, and also feeling more grippy and less breakable. In my opinion, the Galaxy phones with curved displays felt like a bar of soap, and easy to drop and damage. Though the premium of Samsung phones comes down to the bright and sharp AMOLED panel, the caveat is a high burn-in rate and poor fit for most screen protectors. The LG G6 still matches with a rounded, elongated display that is less susceptible to burn in and more ergonomic with consistent girth on the sides of the device. And the camera is a killer feature on this phone, with a wide angle lens on front and back as well as manual mode for advanced scene shooting, though slightly less sharp and vivid than the S8. At the current used price of $200 compared to $400 for a used S8, you cannot go wrong with this phone. The CPU is Snapdragon 821, a slightly older chipset than the S8, but performs slick with LG's lightweight UX skin and minimal bloatware. The G6 currently supports Android 8 Oreo and is guaranteed to get Android 9 "P".

Buy one you will like it
Transitioned from my trusty LG G stylo and it took a while to get used to the narrower but sharper display (aspect ratio). The easy one-handed operation is very welcome and the cameras are awesome with one touch wide-angled coverage means you don't have to keep moving back to include all of your subject in one shot. I am neither a novice photographer, nor an expert one but I feel empowered to be able to compose my pictures fully manually or just take a hurried snapshot in the auto mode. As a phone my G stylo was adequate but it was the camera that prompted me to buy the G6 and I am not disappointed in any way. Everything about the phone I like but I miss the replacable battery of my G stylo. I guess that has to be sacrificed for the waterproofing feature of this on one. I hope the battery lasts a long time and does not need a replacement soon which would mean seeking professional help. I do not plan to test the water resistance of the phone but it's good to know that it is there. This is a premium phone at not so premium price anymore. I like it and am sure you will too.
