How do you install a TV wall mount?

• Enlist the help of a family member or friend.
• Locate the wall studs where you plan on mounting it.
• Be sure to level the bracket when attaching it to the studs with screws.
• Attach the wall mount to the holes on the back of TV.
• Hang the TV and mount it on wall.

There are a few ways you can tell if certain brackets will work with your TV.

• Know the TV's weight.
• Check the TV wall-mounting kit for a compatibility list.
• Find the VESA size on TV and compare it with the specs of the kit you’re considering.
• Are you mounting to wood, concrete, or brick? If mounting to concrete or brick, you need screws designed for it that fit the holes’ diameters.

What if your studs are 24 inches apart?

Get a 24-inch two-by-four to nail into both studs. Think of it as creating a bridge between them. Line up the mounting holes and use a pencil to mark the areas you will attach it to. It is advisable to use a level. Although most wall mounts have an approximately 15-degree tilt for compensation, you should try to hang them as level as possible.

Check to see where your connections are. Typically, they’ll be on the side or bottom of the TV. If connections are on the side, you should be fine. If on the bottom, select a kit with one articulating arm instead of two. The other option would be to have someone help with the connections after mounting the TV.
