Vanity Fair is a current affairs magazine published in the United States that features articles about fashion, current events, and pop culture. The magazine began printing in 1916 and ran until 1936, when it was absorbed by Vogue magazine. It was later revived in 1980 as the contemporary version of the publication.

The periodical was founded in 1913 by Condé Montrose Nast, a publishing magnate, when he purchased the fashion magazine Dress. Once he started publishing it, he changed the name of the magazine to Dress and Vanity Fair. In the 1920s, he dropped the word Dress to the name Vanity Fair, which has been used ever since. Nast lived until 1946, but the publishing company he founded continued to print Vanity Fair, among other titles.

While Vanity Fair was founded in America and was originally printed in English, certain issues of the publication can be found in up to 26 different languages. These include:

• British English: The publication was first made available in the United Kingdom in 1991.
• Italian: Vanity Fair was first printed in its Italian version in 1993.
• German: The magazine was published in Germany from 2007 to 2009. Back issues in the language can still be found.
• Spanish: The magazine is printed in Spanish for readers who live in Spain and Mexico. The Spanish version started in 2008, and the Mexican version started in 2015.
• French: France's version of Vanity Fair was first released in 2013.

• September 2005: This cover features actress Jennifer Aniston, who spoke about her divorce from Brad Pitt.
• October 2006: The cover of this issue features Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes, who were introducing their new child to the world.
• September 1999: This issue featured Carolyn Bessette Kennedy, who passed away in an airplane crash with her husband, John F. Kennedy, Jr, and her sister, Lauren.

Vanity Fair is usually published monthly, but there are exceptions to this rule. The Italian version is published weekly, for example. There are also special edition covers detailing special events that can be properly covered by the monthly issue. Also worth noting are the annual Hollywood issues, which have been released yearly since 1995. Depending on the particular language or edition you are looking for, some issues of Vanity Fair may be more readily available than others.
